Ginerac Vyegera - Chiep

I'd like to know why I still get advertisements for Generic Viagara... last I checked, I am 27 years old and the only place I could use that sort of uptime is on a Windows server. Why is it that I still get these advertisements? SPAM has become more and more a part of humor than anything else, primarily because there's no way the majority of people could possibly be considering buying a product that is advertised from an address like:

winkysmacker38471219@buyitcheep.net

with a title like "...thought you would know", and being sent to "chad".

And of course, what they say in the body of the email itself is: Generic V/@gar@

Yes, that looks professional - you most certainly look like a legitimate salesman and I will certainly want to take advantage of buying drugs from a place I've never heard of and have it shipped to me. Where do I sign up?

I really want to know if Spammers are doing this now to annoy us or are really expecting us to make these purchases. If you're a spammer, feel free to contact me and let me know... oh wait, here in the email it says "tootaly legetimit"... let me just get out my credit card and...

Something is missing...

I can't believe it's been 4 and a half years since I've bothered keeping or publishing a blog. I am now 27 years old, though, and here I am, back at it - sort of. It's a rather odd balancing act to be writing a blog at this age - at least for me it is. Partly it's because I need to balance between professionalism (given that I am a software engineer and a college instructor) and the need to make fun of everything I see (because life is too stupid for me to not take the occasional poke at).

Of course, I could waste time at this point with all sort of unnecessary chatter about the nature of balance and the nature of professionalism versus having some fun, but I think I should have fun... it's more direct, and it's not like I've got time to waste.

So here's my sort of self-imposed ground rule of writing - I'm going to take pot shots at everything except for my employers and their customers. That second part is the harder one for me because I've seen and heard some stuff that was so amazing, I wonder how it is that more people aren't earning Darwin Awards. So I guess when I say I won't take pot shots at the customers, I just won't name them, and I'll try to keep from hinting at it by mentioning what line of work they are in.

So look for the fun to start (again).

And note, I am using Blogger again at this point because I haven't had time to work on a tool of my own for this purpose and Google's applications are very useful. I'll switch to my own tools when they're ready to handle this - so when pigs fly...
